Hi there
I,m after a programe to back up DVD's but I could do with one that I can split the audio from my music DVD's to put onto my walkman, I'm running vista aswell which has been the main problem I've found with all the programs that I've tried so far. Does anybody know what would be a good solution. Cheers

Have you tried AoA Audio Extractor (http://www.aoamedia.com/audioextractor.htm) ... very easy to use. Only thing you need to do is rename the .VOB to .mpg (which is the format that a VOB really is), and it will load in AoA, which then will simply extract that audio for you.... to MP3 as well

Run any ripper in Stream Mode with option to split files at chapter marks. You'll end with AC3 (dolby), lpcm (wav but at 48kHz since 44100 is not supported, sometimes multichannel), DTS (DTS 6ch) or MP2 (mpeg-1 layer 2, also used in DAB and DVB) files for each chapter, usually a chapter is a song. You can convert them into mp3 afterwards ...

I'm not sure what's a music DVD though ;)

It's a DVD-Video with videoclips, it's a DVD-Audio (for which you need DVD-A Explorer) or it's a DVD-Data with MP3 files onto it ;)

I hate programs that need installer and request a reboot. Especially when they are Trialware ...

Like this AoA Audio Extractor.

Why does it need to reboot just for converting audio? Rebooting the system is needed only when it changes essential parts of a running system ......
