Conversion of DVB-S2 files from a Technisat Digicorder HD S2 Plus?

Hi there,

I got a Technisat Digicorder HD S2 plus. Its a pretty nice
receiver, it even lets you natively copy the recorded movies
via USB or LAN to a computer.

But unfortunately I didn't found a convinient way to convert
the *.ts4 files to something usable/editable under WindowsXP.

Today I had luck with this method:

Using TSremux on the TS4-file toremux it to a M2TS.
Then I can convert it using TMPEGenc Xpress 4.0. Unfortunately it looks like that it can't encode or streamcopy
the original AC3-stream... if I use TSremux to demux the
audio and use it then in Xpress the sound gets out of sync...

Any solution for transportstreams with H.264?

Hi Phin123,

If it is a transport stream file you should be able to edit it with TSPE (http://www.bitstreamtools.com). You might have to change the extension to *.ts first by just renaming it to drag/drop the file into TSPE or use the Open button from the main window.

If it doesnt work, by renaming, try remuxing to .ts in TSRemux and then opening in TSPE.

If you are going to re-encode to a different format (eg. x264, mkv) then there are many other excellent freeware utils out there which can do the job, just have a good read of the forum.

Thanks for the advice, will check it out later after work!

I would like to make copies of certain HD-episodes for the
PC. On my computer those H.264 videos don't play at all, VLC shows no picture at all, MPC stutters. After the conversion via XPress4.0 to Xvid at 2,5Mbit/sec it plays like a charm.
the ~15Mbit of the source-video in h.264 must be too much
for my Athlon64 (1,8GHz)... or the opensource x264 codec don't uses the poweraccelartion of the graphics card (Nvidia GeforceFX Go5700 64MB)... dunno. The prob with XPress is that the sound runs out of sync after some seconds... :p

Okay, tried it but I'm stuck:

I can open the remuxed TS-files, but what then? I made certain entried in the EDL-list (to cut the commercials out) but how do I now
use it? If I klick on Edit I only get a 1KB small file... no videofile...

Hi Phin123,

Did you try to open the original source file?

If you are remuxing, remux to a normal .ts file, not to a .m2ts file - the trial licence will not edit those, but the full licence will.
