New intuitive Commercial NLE for Avg Consumers out of Japan :)
http://loilo.tv/

it's based on .Net and we can argue about the usefulness but the intuitive user interface (free floating playground) is also something that could make a buzz in the Professional area :).
Not sure how stable this here really is compared to for example a Consumer PowerDirector but you can try that and it's resource usage with the Watermarked Demo :)
Also interesting is that both of the founder come from the Games industry Namco/Sega so their concept is definitely have fun being creative :)

I just gave it a little spin, and I have to admit I am very impressed with the extremely fluid interface, and the speed! I was watching two videos at once while zooming around the environment, meanwhile I was encoding a movie with megui. Loilo was using 7% of my cpu! Effects (minimal as they are) took affect as soon as I adjusted a slider.

In short, very cool software idea.

One bug I ran into was that it crashed when I scrolled through my fonts selection really fast when creating a text over affect.

I was a little nervous, as I have never done a video like that before now. I'll try and get better in the future. I plan on hosting a lot more videos in the future (as soon as I can find the darn time that is).

Thanks for the review, Adub. This thing looks pretty cool! I wonder what the quality of the mpeg2 encoding is like?

Not really sure, I didn't test the encoding features, I was mostly impressed with the interface. And if worst comes to worst, you just export to lossless and then encode with HCenc.

Am I the only one who thought the interface was crappy? I agree it was innovative, but I found it extremely annoying and difficult to use. Ok, zoom way in close here to look at the timeline... ok now I want to put on a new clip, lets zoom ALL the way out and look for it... ok now zoom back in there...
Yes, there is a reason why most NLE's feature multiple panels contained in a single window. People might actually need to look at more than one thing at the same time...
