I have quite a few VHS tapes that I want to transfer to DVD. I got a device that record the tapes directly to DVD. My notion was to use this o write a DVD+/-RW and then edit the content on the computer. (The DVD produced by the device plays perfectly on all my DVD players and my computer software players.)
So, here's what I tried:
(1) I edited commercials from the DVD using VOBblanker, merged the ensuing VOB files and created title structure using IFOEdit. However, the software players and stand alone players freeze at the join point or a few seconds beyond it.
(2) I tried cutting within Nero Recode, merging the cut VOB but the burned content freezes similarly.
(3) I tried using seamless join in DVD2One and have the same d*mn freezing.
I can create a disc with several title sets for each cut segment but it isn't as clean as I was hoping.
I was hoping to make the process as simple and painless as possible. I thought for sure each one of the methods I used (above) would produce compliant, playable results.
Thanks for the help....
