Hi,
Recently upgraded our pc and installed shrink 3.2 which was from a fresh download. Have found that all backed up disks will now only play correctly on media player etc on the PC and not on stand alone DVD players, a problem I did not encounter when backing up on my old pc - which was an 8 year old P3. Now the new back up disks are skipping from scene to scene in a random fashion on DVD players but play OK on media player on the PC.
Have checked the setup and it appears ok, any suggestions? Is it the version of shrink I have downloaded? burning speed of new pc? Nero setup? at first was very pleased to see the super fast burn speed on the new PC - but not if the back ups only work on a pc.

Newer versions of NERO (v.7.xxx and newer) don't interact properly with the much older DVD Shrink, when used in the "automatic burn" mode from within DVD Shrink. For burning, use either NERO or IMGBurn manually...

if nero must be run manually to do the backup from the older version of shrink how do you select the files from the shrink disc back up to sequence properly when burning with Nero?

After selecting the "Video-DVD" (or "DVD-Video". I forget) icon, you just "drag and drop" ALL of the DVD-related files (.IFOs, .BUPs, .VOBs) into NERO's RED "VIDEO_TS" folder and then select "Burn". NERO will do the rest...

When starting the back up in shrink 3.2, what do i set the target device as? Burn with Nero, create an ISO file or create DVD files?
Alternatively is there another program that i can download that will perform with nero 8?

You can use this (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?zwdr0y1jlmh) version of DVD Shrink that allows directly burning with ImgBurn. Simply select ISO Image File and burn with ImgBurnTM.

So download this version of Shrink 3.2 AND download ImgBurn TM?, couldn't I just download ImgBurn and see if the current version of shrink 3.2 I am using works with it? Perhaps I am better off learning to use what i have with Nero 8.

No your not better off, ImgBurn is much simpler and easier to use, it's also allot smaller and more efficient than Nero, on top of that it is plain better at burning files, Nero is a big bloated piece of garbage, it has tons of features that usually are wasted as most people would not use every feature of Nero
All you need to do is install ImgBurn, then download the file linyx pointed you to, and follow the instructions in the readme, it should take you no longer than 2 or 3 minutes.
