I have been piddling around with Avidemux - Cool program :)
Recently I was asked to edit and encode a video of a school play so that it can be loaded on a school web site. That went okay but then I got to the part about adding a small tag in the lower right corner of the video which would say property of *** High School.
Four days later and I'm still stuck - Help Please!!!
It does not have to be anything fancy, plain text will do

The Simplest way would be to create a PNG logo with your desired text (Paint.net can do this easily)
Then in AVIDemux click Filters, goto Misc, and click Logo and simply browse to your PNG and setup its's position and Alpha level

Thanks for the reply; unfortunately all I see under Miscellaneous are the following.
Partial (empty)
Add Framenumber
MPlayer delogo
Whirl

Try updating your AVIDemux build
Are you using Windows or Linux?

I’m using Avidemux 2.5.0 (r4658) and it is on an XP system (educational license).
I’ll grab the latest upgrade and see if that will help. I have a png with the school name and a tiger paw print (mascot) so that would be perfect.

May not be a version issue, I am running Ubuntu 8.10 and installed AVIDemux from the repositories and its version is 2.4.3.....

Thank you for the tip
I downloaded 2.4.4 and the filter was in there. Unfortunately I couldn’t get it to handle transparency so I ended putting the text on a full width black image below the video and adding a black border to the top for balance. Not a very elegant solution but it met the schools requirement.

Oh well's as long as they're happy...
You did actually have transperancy in the png right?

avidemux's logo filter doesn't handle transparency, but neuron2's logo filter for vdub handles alpha channel correctly
another option would be using avisynth , imagereader() , overlay(), and showalpha()

Yes I have both Corel and Adobe. I the primary reason I first became interested in Avidemux was for its ability to export video as a series of images then after graphics changes and batch proccessing, reload those images as a video.

Thanks for that. I will give them a look.
