Is there a 64 bit edition of handbrake? for windows vista?

Sorry, no. The only released 64 bit version is linux. The Mac version can be compiled 64 bit if your using latest svn source. Windows version won't be 64 bit any time soon.

I am running OSx. How do I find/use this svn source?

You'll need the os x development tools.
http://developer.apple.com/Tools/

Then use svn to checkout the code.
http://handbrake.fr/?article=development

Be sure to read the build instructions in the doc folder after you checkout the source.
