DVD playback with WMP 11

Hi guys,

I'm running Vista Business, and I cannot get WMP 11 to play DVDs. I've installed K-lite standard and dvdupgrd /detect finds the Cyberlink codec. I can play DVDs using MPC, Media Center (I've got a Dell XPS M1330), VLC, KMPlayer and everything else I have, but not WMP. I also tried Dscaler, but it didn't work either, so I uninstalled it.

I tried tweaking a bit on the ffdshow settings (even though I don't really understand too much of it). MPEG2 is disabled. I tried enabling it, but it didn't help. I tried setting raw video to all supported, too.

Any suggestions?

I actually just managed to solve it. I went to www.free-codecs.com and downloaded a bunch of their MPEG-2 decoders. I installed them one after another, and tested, but no success. I then uninstalled them (except that most of them did not have uninstallers). I then rebooted, and voila! It worked!
