I am using x264_x86_r1114_techouse build and I did an encode using
Quote:
--ref 9 --bframes 9 --psy-rd 1.80:0.20 --aq-strength 0.90 --zones 0,200,b=0.2,psy-rd=3:1,aq-strength=0,bframes=12,ref=12
When the encoding is finished and checked the video using a hex editor (Media Info can show this also) and I get the following
Quote:
ref=12 psy_rd=3.0:1.0 bframes=9 aq=1:0.90 zones=0,200,b=0.2,psy-rd=3:1,aq-strength=0,bframes=12,ref=12
It seems that some zone values overridden the main video values.

Is that just wrong info that x264 writes or my video encoded with wrong parameters ?automan t300 key programmer (http://www.obdiiscanner.com/key-programmer/automan-t300.html)

Is anyway I can detect what parameters actually used, ignoring that info part ?

I'm guessing that whatever you are getting the info from is reading the header from the first video frame only.
What does it report if you cut off the first 200 frames and remux?

What relevance does the key programmer link have?

x264 writes the string header based on the very first frame's resulting parameters.
this means that any parameters used on a zone that affect frame 0 show up instead of their non zoned values.

WTF?
I did Exactly the same question, sometime ago here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1257165#post1257165). The posts are identical except the key programmer link

Spammers are getting smarter... Bit strange that nobody else noticed it though.

Someone should delete this thread, or at least remove the spam post

Very clever. I meant to report this thread too, but I think I accidentally reported your original thread. Oops XD.
