Is there a way to directly play mpls files in a DirectShow Player?
This would enable us to directly play the movies without remuxing.
Since there are many tools capable of reading these files it should be possible to have such a splitter filter.

From a retail or bd-rebuilder output powerdvd, arcsoft tmt, windvd going through menu can playback from playlists.
I don't know of a player that can play directly from mpl(s) files. It would be nice to have though. I'd imagine MPC-HC to be the first to have it but I'm still waiting for a reply on a bug that no other player has concerning way out of sync playback with m2ts muxed from .264 files playback for 3+ months now so I wouldn't hold your breath.
