I have many MKV files to convert to AVI with divx (which is the only file that will play on my mother's Philips DVP5982 standalone player). I download documentaries for her, burn them to disc and snail-mail them to her, since she couldn't download a file or burn a disc if her life depended on it... but I digress. Anyway, so far the easiest way I've found to batch encode files to AVIs with Divx that are *guaranteed* to play on her player is using Dr. Divx OSS 2.0 (beta 7), *BUT* it tends to crash inexplicably about every 3rd or 4th file in the queue. I need something which I can load up with a bunch of files, set for the "home theater profile" and let it work overnight reliably.
Any suggestions?
