Closed Captions and ProjectX

Recording (North American) HDTV containing closed captions.
The file format is .tp and I can open and demux the file using ProjectX - except that I cannot get closed caption information The only reference I see is to 'Teletext' .
Anyone know if 'Closed Captions' are supported.

As a side note, I can use CCExtractor on .tp files and recover the captions.

The closed caption data is carried in the video user data at the picture level. I doubt that ProjectX parses the video so I believe it cannot extract these captions. I could be wrong.

There is a tool that extracts CC from HDTV recordings. It's called, surprise, CC extractor.
There is also a thread here at doom9 about reinserting them either as CC or as subtitles.
