Hi
I have been trying to get Media Player (HomeCinema) to associate all video file types to Media Player (HomeCinema), so all my video files play with that media player.
For some reason the command regvid does not work anymore on vista x64 ultimate.

I have been running this command:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\MPC HomeCinema\mplayerc.exe" /regvid

Does anyone knows why its not associating media files to Media Player (HomeCinema) x86 version 1.2 build 1005?

Thanks

You must run that command from an elevated command prompt. Administrator privileges are required to create file associations.

Thank you for your reply. Yes i have been running this with Administrator privileges on server 2008 x64, and also on vista ultimate sp1 x64 (dual boot OS). It just wont work. I installed K-lite codec (The codec pack i always use) and that installer associates all media files, but the on a clean install without klite codec, that command above does not work.

Simply running the command on an Admin account is not enough. You must explicitly run the command prompt with admin privileges (right-click, run as). If that doesn't work then I don't know either.

That codec pack doesn't use the regvid command, so you can't compare it with that.
