Hi. I am trying to identify key frames of AVC stream in AVI file but I am not successful. I have identified MPEG4-ASP format key frames via Flags. But for AVC streams, those flags look same and equal 0x01000000 for all frames.

An one can help me? Thank you.

AVI isn't really the suitable container to store H.264 streams. In AVI there are only to types of frames: "Key Frames" and "Delta Frames". There's nothing that equals B-Frames.

Anyway, I think if one stores a H.264 stream in AVI, then only IDR-Frames should be marked as "Key Frames". All other frames (None-IDR I-Frames, P-Frames and B-Frames) should be marked as "Delta Frames".

I think here is wrong place to open this topic. I realise my question is nothing about AVI but h264. I am searching of how AVC tag its I and IDR frames. Thank you.

The AVC/H.264 Bitstream Specifications would be the right place to search for this information...
