Exactly what it says on the tin. I have several anime dvds that have 3 or 4 episodes all stuck together as one 90 minute pgc. I want to rip these to individual x264 mkvs while keeping both audio tracks and soft subtitles. I can pretty much figure out how to rip the video from the dvd and convert to mkv, but splitting it up into 3 or 4 different files while keeping all the subs synced is much trickier. I searched through the forum and found a few (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=141048) different (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1254730#post1254730) methods that some people use.

I've already tried ripping by chapter in dvd decrypter, but after I convert everything and mux it, the subtitle's timings are off. I can use subresync change the timings, but I don't know what they should be. What is the proper way to do what I'm trying to do?

Hi!

Use "MKVMerge" to create one overall MKV - and then use the "Split" function of "MKVMerge" (Under the "Global" tab)...

I use variable bit rates and the episodes are usually different lengths by up to 30 seconds, so how do I split them?

You might have better luck with the "split by cellid" instead of chapters.

Index like normal, then load the vob cells in subRip, then OCR.

I don't suppose there's something a little less labor intensive is there? I'd like to be able to automate this.

If not, that's fine. Thanks for the help.
