Need help with R3 (Hong Kong) DVD IVTC (sample added)

Ok, So I ran this thru DGIndex and this is what came back on preview, NTSC and full INTERLACED

So in field operation I set it to Honor pulldown and saved the D2V file (Ive also tried this with Discard pulldown)

Opened it up GK and noticed this when I previewed it

Every 6th image is progressive and then it goes back to interlaced

This is a first for me, I opened up avisynth frameserver in GK and tried different options but I cant for the life of me get this to IVTC without noticeable jerky playback, if I do a field deinterlace with no blend, I get smooth playback but the quality has diminished quite a bit obviously. Does anyone have any ideas how I can IVTC this?

You can't IVTC it, but almost certainly you have to unblend it. Something like:

Yadif(Mode=1,Order=1)#or your favorite bobber
RePAL()

should do the job. But in a case like this pictures are next to useless and a small 10 second sample from the source - one with steady motion - is needed before offering informed advice. So far I'm only making an educated guess.

Yea no problem, made a 15 sec clip thru DG Index using the demux video option, honor pulldown....so its a m2v/mpeg2 file

Its all fast motion scenes so it should be easy to see scanlines

Your source is NTSC. Mcbob().SRestore() will bring you to smooth 25.00 fps, but your source isn't PAL. animeivtc(mode=2, aa=0) will get rid of the blends and restore back to 23.97 fps.

Yep, the usual PAL2NTSC garbage. I'd use the script I gave earlier, but SRestore also can do the job.
