hi all, got a question, i have a x1950pro and a 7600gs, both claim to do partial h264 decoding as in the motion compenstation stuff.

question is media player classic home cinema doesnt seem to provide this partial acceleration feature to be used when playing mkv files.
is there any other player/codec that can use the gfx card in this situation to provide a partial assist?

also would it be any better than coreavc doing the work on its own? using a athlon xp2500+?

WinDVD and PowerDVD are the only players that support this, I guess.

both those players cant playback mkv files. do guess that angle is a dud too. oh well, looks like im gonna have to spend some money to do this properly.

you could convert the mkv file to m2ts with tsmuxer.

That's probably your only option.

An AthlonXP 2500+ isn't going to handle 25mbps 1080p decoding, no matter how fast your software decoder is - unfortunately. Pick up an AGP Radeon 2400 or something along those lines.

CoreAVC and DivX 7 are probably your only options, but I doubt you'll get good enough results.. The lack of SSE2 on the AthlonXP is a real downer.
