Hi i have a 8GB 1080p .mkv file which a want to recode (thats not a problem). There is a problem with the header of the file which has the time for the duration set wrong (it thinks its 49 minutes long instead of 1 hour and 1/2). I played the file using vlc player and could watch the whole duration. However with other plays and avisynth think its 49 minutes long. A friend told me i need to redo the header (possibly with hex editor but i couldnt get this to work). Any ideas? :D

Hi!with other plays and avisynth think its 49 minutes long1) Are you saying that the movie doesn't play through to the end and actually only runs for 49 minutes - or are you saying that it plays through to the end, but the timer only indicates 49 minutes?
2) What software and procedures did you use to create the MKV?
3) What is the nature of your original source material (DVD, BluRay, etc.)?

It doesnt play to the end (actually runs for 49 mins). I know its full sized caus it plays with vlc.
I didn't create the mkv a friend did. Its 1080p, in h264 from a bluray source.
