How to determine system configuration from Internet Browser

Is there a way to determine the System Configuration (CPU, RAM, HDD, Connection speed) from the Internet Browser?

no. you can get the OS and browser version, the screen resolution and colors but no system specific info.

So it works through Java Applets. I wonder if it works through Flash/Flex?
