I am running Windows 7

I have Virtualdub 1.9.0 build 30586 AMD64 bit version.

I was able to install a x264 codec just fine, but when I try to install koepi's Xvid codec, it does not appear in Virtualdub's list of codecs.

I don't care about decrypting, I have ffdshow for that, I just want to be able to encode in xvid.

Any ideas why Xvid is not appearing under virtualdub? Is it an incompatibility with Windows 7? Is it because I am running a 64bit OS? Or is it something else?

Is there anything I can do to fix this?

If you are running the x64 (aka AMD64) version of VirtualDub, then you must install a x64 build of Xvid too ;)

Probably you installed a "normal" x86 build of Xvid, which cannot be used by the x64 version of VirtualDub for obvious reasons.

Thats what I assumed.

Where can I find one? I tried to google it but all I found was an expiremental alpha build from a forum post made in 2005.

Are there any decent 64 bit builds of Xvid that weren't abandoned years ago?

If you can't find any, simply use x86 VirtualDub with x86 Xvid. It will run under 64-Bit Windows just fine ;)
