Add a new intro video to a DVD

I have a lot of DVDs that I need to add a new 1-minute intro video to. I would like everything else to remain unchanged. The DVDs include subtitles, quizzes, etc., so I'd like to avoid reauthoring the DVDs if possible. Can anyone recommend a simple method for adding the new intro as the "first play" item upon insertion of the disc and then proceeding to what was previously the "first play" item (video or menu)? Unless I misunderstand you, the answer is simple: use the Title menu and select 'Import First Play (startup) clip". This wil require a *_0.IFO file and its associated VOB.

To get this, use Muxman to multiplex your audio/video streams. They need to be DVD compliant M2V 9for video) and AC3 or WAV for the audio; and the result is a VOB and the associated IFO/BUP set. Of course your 1-min clip may not be in a suitable form, but that is a separate question.

meRobs is right. The 'Import First Play (startup) clip' of PgcEdit is just made for that purpose, but it requires the intro clip already correctly authored as a DVD-Video.

I thought there would be a simple solution. Creating the IFO and VOB with Muxman should not be a problem. I am not very familiar with PGCEdit though. I'll post again if I have difficulty. Thanks.

You can create the clip in DVD-Video format with any tool. as long as it produces DVD-Video compliant files. It's certainly the case of Muxman.
