Is it possible to get AVS files to work with Nero (Nero Vision to be exact)?

It's difficult but you can hack it though directshow using graphedit/graphstudio. You have to rename the exe to recode.exe and then you can construct a graph.

Not worth it IMO. There are better, higher quality , free apps that work with .avs just fine.

(Not sure why you posted this in the DVD burning section)?

EDIT: sorry I thought you meant encoding, as in Nero Recode :OOPS

Wait... Does that mean I should disregard what you said? I'm trying to burn files to DVD after passing them through my AVISynth enhancements by using my created AVS files. Is that what needs to be done for it to work or were you talking about something else?

I was talking about encoding.

You can't just "apply" avisynth filters without re-encoding anyway.

By burning to DVD do you mean DVD-Video (i.e. playable by stand alone units) or as a data disk?

Yeah, sorry I didn't clarify. And yeah, I know. I'd be encoding to MPEG-2. And uh, yeah, it doesn't seem worth it. I can find some other burning software that can burn HD that supports AVISynth. Thanks.

I don't think you understand...or maybe I don't understand what you are saying...

"burning HD" and supports "AVISynth" have nothing to do with each other...

Normally you would apply the avs filters while encoding to MPEG-2, then author a DVD.... But DVD is SD not HD... there are specific requirements that are required to make a compliant DVD (i.e. playble on a standalone player)...

so I still have no idea what you are talking about ?

lol, nvm. I knew I shouldn't have mentioned that part. Just ignore it.. Lol

To simplify the question, all I really meant was if there's a way to get Nero Vision to support AVS files. If the solution is what you told me, then it's not worth it. That's all.

I thought this was about DVD Burning Software in general. I'm sorry.
