View Full Version : Good Color Correction Plugin?

Hey guys,
I got this bright and low a bit high contrast video with more white(s) than colors.
So which would be a good way/plugin for color correction? I tried YlevelS and Tweak, but still the quality is not good. I have to reduce the contrast and brightness to get colors, but then it gets extra dark.
A list of good plugins with guides would be if awesome help :).
Thanks!

You might want to reword your question or it'll probably get locked:

Do not ask "what's best" because this question cannot be answered objectively. Each and everyone has their own view about what's best in a certain area. The best is what works best for you!

And a picture is worth more than thousand words ;)
Can you post a sample picture?

You should try SmoothLevels() by LaTo. Or you can draw an arbitrary curve with the gradation curves filter (by BugsBunny) in VirtualDub, then if you like the result, you can save it into an .amp file and load it with GiCoCu in AviSynth.

Well, I asked for a good plugin to do it, not the best :).

Thanks! I will try that, but how do I draw the arbitary curve? I am new to this. A little more specifications would be really helpful :).

Just load in the filter in VirtualDub (I assume you know how to do it), and you'll see it's pretty straightforward. There'll be a screen where you can put on new coordinates with mouse and move them until you find your ideal curve. There's also a preview function, so you can see what you're doing.

I loaded the Gradiation Filter, but then how do I use GiCoCu to load the .amp file? What's the syntax? I Googled, but couldn't find much.
