software upscaleing ?

has anyone considered putting a software upscaleler into one of these great players? something like faroudja that is found in some hardware players? the reason I ask is in my htpc I like to play dvd rips but they look much worse than disks played on my hardware box. thx

Have you tried to upscale using ffdshow?

no I didn't know it could do that. how would that be setup? thanks for the info I am 60 yrs so getting a little slower.

Open the ffdshow video settings and go to Resize & Aspect. There's a bunch of different options in there - make sure to check the box on the list on the left or next to Resize near the top to make sure it's used once you've set up what you'd like.
