I've used DVDshrink in the past and have never had any problems. However, I just got a new computer, redownloaded the program and now it won't automatically burn. I do have Nero 9. Is there some setting I need to change? Thanks so much.

**I should specify that the "enable burning with Nero" box is checked.**

Hi!

There's nothing wrong with either program. While NERO has been continually updated, as you probably know, DVD Shrink has not (for a few years). As a consequence, the methodology used to support DVD Shrink "automatically" using NERO to burn cannot be used with the newer versions of NERO.

Therefore, uncheck the "enable burning with Nero" box and when DVD Shrink has finished compressing your DVD, simply use NERO manually instead, to burn.

(Although there's no reason that you shouldn't continue to use NERO [Especially since it's a commercial product for which you've spent good money!], others may suggest that you consider using [freeware] IMGBurn.)

Thank you. Now, this is going to sound like a stupid question, but I'm new to all of this and when I used Nero to burn the files, it would not play on my DVD player. It would not even recognize the disk. I never had this problem when they burned automatically. Can you help me with this? Sorry. (Embarassed.)

When using NERO directly, select the "DVD-Video" icon, open - and with the left mouse button, "drag and drop the the YELLOW "VIDEO_TS" folder from the rightmost pane onto the RED "VIDEO_TS" folder in the leftmost pane...

Don't burn at faster than 8X. Use high quality media, such as Verbatim DVD+R.

BTW - The only "stupid" question is the one you don't ask ;>}

You could also download the DVD Shrink ImgBurn hack (i won't tell you where to get it you'll have to use other resources), then you can use DVD Shrink with ImgBurn to burn directly from DVD Shrink.

I had the same problem when I upgraded to Nero 9 and uninstalled Nero 7. DVDShrink would no longer automatically burn the DVD. This is because Nero 9 does not allow DVD Shrink access. I reinstalled Nero 7, and now DVD Shrink burns normally again.
