Does anyone have any experience as to how Cineform's Pre-compression Filter for De-interlace 1080i and DV sources compares to Avisynth based de-interlacing?
Thanks

Anyone?
Also, I learned that this filter does 1080i de-interlacing on the fly during the video capture. But want to see if anyone has experience vs. Avisynth de-interlacing

That's a good question, actually..
Can CineForm actually store interlaced video as-is without any deinterlacing?

Yes, it is able to capture the video as 1080i.
But as for its 1080i de-interlacing filter, I've done a few trial captures and it seems to add a fair amount of motion blur/ghosting.
Or maybe that more part of the 1080i 29.97fps to 1080p 29.97fps the process.
