hiho,

i use anyDVD to be able to play my blu-ray discs on windows vista business.
now it works like a charm, nice picture, good sound.

but i can not get the software to play the blu-ray correctly anyhow.
why?

if i select "open dvd" it plays just one file...which is always the same one on a dvd.
if i select "open folder" it plays all files, that sounds cool so far.
but there is a gap with a black screen between the files and it depends on the blu-ray disc in what sequence the files play. unfortunatly in most cases not the correct movie sequence. so i get to see the end at the beginning and so on.
little disturbing ^^

how can i get mpc to play the dvd in the correct sequence and gapless?

First of all, do you mean DVD or Blu-ray? Because they are entirely two different beasts. For one, the DVD structure has been supported for ages, but Blu-ray is really new, and it's method of navigation is not supported in full yet by any free player that I know of. However, if you just want to play the main movie (even if it is split-in-two) then just navigate to the main movie folder in windows, select the two biggest files, and drag and drop them into the Media Player Classic HC playlist.

unfortunatly its not only two files.
i have "wall-e" on blu-ray and those are numerous files of every size that represent the whole movie :(

File / Open DVD on the root of you BRD will automatically detect the main movie, and even made a playlist if the main movie is in 2 parts ;)

unfortunatly it doesnt.
i try with wall-e and this is split into hundred parts.
if i choose "open dvd" it will just pick the biggest file i guess.

but the playlist solution actually works! :)

only thing left is a gap between the files. the blank screen with mpc logo is gone, but mpc or the hardware (6x lg player) needs to much time to load the new files.
is there a way to preload them? or any other solution to get rid of the gap?

Hi!any other solution to get rid of the gap?If the player you're using supports playback from your hard drive and is capable of playing MKVs, use the recently arrived (presently FREEWARE) "MakeMKV" to, with one click, both decrypt and convert (No need for AnyDVD) the main movie to a single MKV file.

Among many other BluRay discs, I have successfully used "MakeMKV" to convert "Ratatouille", which has a VERY similar structure to "WALL-E" (multitude of files to be joined).

Of course, if you wish, you can also use this program to create separate MKV files for individual "Extras"...

hmm yeah...that would work, tried that and no probs actually.
but my overall goal was to use the blu-ray out of the drive ;)
cause i don't wanna convert n stuff.

cause i don't wanna convert n stuff.Of course the choice is yours. Personally, I'd prefer to preserve/protect my original discs while taking a half-hour or so to create an MKV for playback that perfectly retains the original quality of the BluRay disc ;>}

(The ONLY limitation presently is that "MakeMKV" cannot convert BluRay discs containing the additional "BD+" protection. I believe this is presently limited to only 20th Century Fox releases...)
