Canopus HQ Codec

Does anyone have any experience with the Canopus HQ Codec? How does it do at its highest quality setting for 720x480p, 1280x720p, and 1920x1080i?
And how does it compare to Cineform and pure uncompressed? The white papers and official website give the codec a overall great rating, but wanted some real feedback or samples.

It works as advertised. High quality, and fast. I haven't compared it with Cineform.

You can easily compare it with lossless yourself to see how little you're losing.

You asked for samples, but can prepare your own for free: there's an (illegal) stand-alone version floating around, but you can get a legal free demo with various bits of software, e.g. Edius Neo. The codec itself will happily work with anything, e.g. VirtualDub. You can install the Edius Neo demo and never run it - the codec will still be there for use for 30 days.

I downloaded the 30day trial of Edius 5.1 and imported my uncompressed 720p video and exported as Chaopus HQ using its highest quality setting.

To be honest, I am hard pressed to tell any difference when viewing them at native size.
However, when zoomed in the difference is quite noticeable. The Canopus HQ Codec version has Pixelation around text and objects.

The raw 10 second was 1.2GB uncompressed the Chaopus HQ version was 290MB.
