I've been using MeGUI for ripping DVDs to MP4 or MKV with x264/AAC.

MeGUI is using DGIndex along with AVISynth for decoding VOBs and passing A/V stream to encoder. This process works well for ripping main movie as I just select the first large VOB in DGIndex and the rest of the movie is selected automatically.

However I'm now interested in also ripping DVD extras (trailers, making of, deleted scenes, etc). I'd like to have those extras in separate, appropriately named files.

Can anybody suggest a workflow for converting DVD in to several MP4s or MKVs (e.g. main movie/trailers/deleted scenes/other extras)

It doesn't have to be with MeGui, but preferably using freeware and output should be x264 in MP4 or MKV.

Thanks
Ross

Yeah, just select the extras instead of the main movie when you are creating your script. DGindex will run on those, create your script, load into MeGUI, and encode and save with an appropriate name.

Merlin7777, do you know if there is a way to make the selection process easier and may be automate the whole thing, or would I have to do it one feature at a time?
(Some dvds have a dozen or more extras, so it could get tedious)

Thanks
