Fast moving part of image is distorted (interlacing?)

Hi everybody,

I'm a newbie in using Avisynth, and now i'm facing a problem.
When I load a DV-video in media player (via Avisynth) the fast moving part is distorted. The not moving pats looks OK. I don't use any filters, and the only row in the "AVS" file is "AviSource("Clip 01 01.avi")". When I use the clip directly in media player, the video is of much higher quality.

Seems like interlacing. WMP takes care of deinterlacing when playing DV files. Editing software usually requires that you explicit tell it to.

Indeed, sounds like interlacing.

A couple of questions:

1) What is your goal with this DV video source - i.e. what are you doing with it?
2) What is your desired output format, and/or playback device?

I have deinterlaced my DV with “smoothDeinterlace, and everything looks much better now.

The video I would like to process in my home-made DV,
The DV is shot with my Sony SD camera, and now I would like to show it on my Flatscreen HD TV.
So I would like to upsize it from 720 x 576 to 1920 x 1080p. (PAL)
Then I like to convert it to H.264, and play it from my HDD.
I like to concept of Avisynth, but because of the overwhelming amount of filters it is very difficult to make a choice. I understand that there are no good or bad filters, because every author has written his filter with certain goals in mind, but for a newbie like me very difficult to make a choice.
Now my second question: what upsize filter should I use to get good quality with the video I like to create (X264)

You want to upconvert SD DV to HD, better than your TV can do it?

Search SD HD upconversion.

Start with a better deinterlacer. e.g. mcbob or tgmc

Don't expect miracles.
