I am not sure about this nor could find much info on it.
I noticed that some movies that use arcsofts HD audio decoder when played using MPC-HC are giving me this on the playback status

Input format: 48000Hz, 6 CH
Output format: 48000Hz, 2CH
Renderer: 48000Hz, 6 CH

I actually need to select 5.1 from the arcsoft decoder menu as it automatically is set up for 2 channel. If I dont then the Renderer status shows 48000Hz, 2CH.

Most of my movies load using AC3 and for those the status reads 6 channels for input, output, and renderer.
Does this mean that when Arcsoft is loading I am really just getting the input 6 Channel audio and converting it in 2Channels and then the renderer is once again trying to make it a 6 Channel audio stream or am I completely nuts?
Thanks

yeah. Arcsoft Decoder Settings cant be saved outside Arcsoft Playback Software. Youve to set it to 5.1 everytime when you use teh Decoder. Otherwise you get only 2Ch Output from Arcsoft because 2.0 is the default Decoder Setting
Thats the Reason why i i dont use this Decoder :)

But you get proper 6 Channles when you set it to 5.1

Ok so when I got to filters and select 5.1 is that enough to get my real 6 channel audio?
I ask because when I do that the Renderer reads 6CH but the OUTPUT still reads 2CH. It makes it look like I am getting a matrix 6 channel audio although it does sound fine to me.
