Hey, I'm trying to clean up my LD of THX 1138 that I just transferred to my computer. Could anyone recommend me some good scripts or filters to use, I've tried RemoveNoiseMC with LimitedSharpenFaster, but areas on peoples faces and other such areas seemed to lose alot of detail or have broken up lines on them.
Also, I'd like to resize the video from standard laserdisc resolution of 3/4 D1 into 720x480 anamorphic 16x9, but I have no clue how to do it without screwing up the aspect ratio.
It probably involves something with add borders or something, but I'd really appreciate some help
Here's a 1 minute sample of my clip. If anybody has better results than me with RemoveNoiseMC and LSF please post your results, or if you find a better solution post that as well.
Thanks for your help!

That sample is useless as you have cropped and deinterlaced the video.
But you are in luck - LD's were mostly telecined film, so you can restore the original 24fps film with:
Telecide(order=1,guide=1)
Decimate(cycle=5)
This HAS to be done on the AS CAPTURED video BEFORE any cropping/resizing.
For denoising, look at MVDegrain from MVTools.
As to burning the WS DVD, if I remember correctly, resize your clip (704x288) to 704x480 and author it with the 16:9 DAR flag set.
Good luck.

Bear in mind that laserdisc is analog, and so has no defined horizontal resolution (the height in lines is of course quite specific).
You'll want to encode your video with the height of the active image area. Encoding anamorphic is nice if you have the detail, but since laserdisc is analog composite, you're unlikely to really have 720 samples worth of horizontal resolution. But no harm in trying :).
