How do I get ISO9 to DVD5?

I just recieved a purchased DVD name ' Absolutely MAD'. I'd make to make a backup copy. The programs I have for backup tell me I have ISO files on the disk and I have to convert them to DVD files.

I've never done this before. I've only backed up DVD9 to DVD5.

Can anyone give me a clue?

Commercial DVDs do not contain an ISO file.

Where did you purchase it?

Does it play in a standalone DVD player?

What backup programs have you tried?

The DVD is from Amazon.com

It is full of scanned files. They display as PDF files.

I've used DVD decrypter and wa able to save the as an ISO.

Dvd2One can only ready VOB's so can't open the ISO.

Tied DVD Shrink. No luck.

Seems like the original is dual layer and I'd just like to copy it to DVD5. If I have to copy it to two single layer disks I will.

You are right it is not a movie DVD.

I've tried that. Used RecordNowMax. Tells me it won't fit the disk and only copies two files.

Will Nero 7 be able to do this for me? Not familiar with it except for Burning ROM.

Re-rip with DVD Decrypter set to produce a fileset instead of an ISO.

You'll then you'll be able to compress the files with either of the programs you mention or any other software of your choice.

I suggested a D/L disc because this appears to be other than a video DVD and, therefore, not compressible using the "usual suspects". If you click on the link provided by "Jeffy", you'll see that this appears to be a data disc. The OP also noted:It is full of scanned files. They display as PDF files.

Just burn it onto DVD+R DL as suggested by setarip_old. I'd recommend to use ImgBurn (http://imgburn.com/) -> least hassles, compatibility problems, free, fast and reliable, never had a problem with it.

I'm sorry I had to log out last night. At seventy years old and after being on the computer since 8am I just had to succumb.

But your ideas and suggestions have opened my eyes and I agree that I have to get a DL disc and do an exact copy as a data disc.

I believe I have IMGBURN on my computer, but never used it. If not, I'll get it. Then I'll have to make sure one of my burners can create DLs.

My Sony NEC DVD RW AD-7200A is capable of burning dual-layer.
Some days are better than others.

BTW - I use 'Guys' as a generic term. Helps me to not have to type 'Guys and Gals', which i just did.

I now have a copy of my original DVD.

It cost me $16 for the DL DVDs but that's 1/2 price for a repurchase of the original. Actually, I have 14 DL discs left and I don't think I'll ever need them again, since I only copy my purchased movies to protect my investment.

I know it's illegal, but for all the guys above who helped me out with this solution, I'd be okay with making a copy and snail-mailing it to you. Sorry, I won't transfer anything electronically.

You're right. I shouldn't have used that word. I never woud've used 'give up' either. I guess I should have said 'go to bed' instead.
