First of all, thank you for taking an interest and read this.
Secondly, I tried to find some post(s) addressing this but found only an unanswered one, around eight months ago, so I'm hoping for better luck.
What I have:
An incorrectly ended capture file (video only) due to system crash, causes unknown and a first, actually!... Well, not the "crash" obviously, but during capture (and that means thousands of hours).
This file is correctly identified by Explorer - correct file name and size, but nothing else. It isn't readable and VDub won't open it as an "unknown or unsupported file type".
It was captured with a DC10plus, into an AVI (M-JPEG codec), using VirtualVCR. The OS is Xp Pro/SP2 and all partitions are in NTFS.
My question is: Is there a tool that "closes" the capture/file and makes it readable? I don't need the whole file, only portions.
Thank you.
