I am having problems demuxing a multimedia file that has x264 video w/ AC3 audio.

I have tried to demux using MKV Extract GUI, MKV Demux All, AVI-Mux GUI, and VDubMod. They all fail. MKV Extract GUI doesn't even give an "extact" option, but the "uncat" is available. MKV Demux All (prog from SourceForge btw) crashes trying to open file, AVI-Mux GUI can save the AC3, but when I try to save the video it wants to save it as a *.raw file? Is that normal? And VDubMod crashes too.

If it's not too big and you can upload it somewhere, I can have a look at it.

Is there a way I can trim a sample using X tool? VDubMod cannot open it.

Don't know about cutting. How big is it?

Try mkvextract from the command line and report what exact error you get.

http://www.stfcc.org/misc/clip.exe
usage: clip <infile> <outfile> <start offset> <length>
length is in bytes.
