Is any X.264 plug-in available for Adobe Premier Pro?

No, but it's pretty easy to encode with x264 from Premiere; export to a lossless format like HuffYUV or FFV1, and then encode from that with x264.

Yes, but that'll waste my time & free space so much.

x264 (lowercase x and no dots)...
btw, you can do some tricks with frameserving and encoding with the cli encoder... but thats quite a complex procedure.

Does Premier Pro support VFW Codecs at least? If so, you can see how far you can get with that one:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=213809
If it does support DirectShow encoders, you may want to check out that one:

Yep since some time now i guess it was CS2/3 Adobe products support Directshow now though imho it's really unstable :P

Is it possible to frameserve the output to x264?

Is it possible to frameserve the output to x264?
It easy to frameserve video into x264, either through Avisynth or through a Pipe (STDIN).
The question here is: How do you get the frames out of that "Premier" application?
Maybe this one could be helpful:
http://www.debugmode.com/frameserver/
Guess the chain would be:
Premier -> Debugmode FrameServer -> Avisynth/AVISource() -> x264

Of course Premier Pro supports VFW & DS dec-enc...
I think the best way is developing X.264 plug-in for PP CS4:
X.264 SC:
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=89979
PP CS3 SDK (Latest SDK): (2.2 MB)
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/developer/premiere/sdk/premiere_pro_cs3_r1_sdk_win.exe
Plug-in Types
This SDK includes sample code and documentation for importers, recorders, compilers, players, transitions, video filters, and device controllers. Premiere Pro also supports a subset of After Effects effect plug-ins.

Sina,
Please STOP writing X.264! There is no such thing!.... it's x264. Don't confuse a video standard (H.264) with an encoder (x264) which implements it

Shouldn't radscorpion's x264 directshow filter work ? Am nowhere near a machine with Premiere installed, but I 'll be sure to try. Or you can try yourself and post results :

Just tested : does not work (Premiere Pro 2.0 does not see Monogrammultimedia's x264 1.0.2.0 DirectShow filter).
(So as not to end on a negative note, but completely off-topic : I just dropped Premiere AVS Plugin v1.91 into Adobe Encore 2.0's plugin folder, and opened an avisynth file like a charm).

Export to VFAPIConv , and encode with x264.

Well, if you are using a Mac, there is a Quicktime component that you can download and use to export:
x264Encoder 0.9.9 (http://www003.upp.so-net.ne.jp/mycometg3/)
Screencaps of a recent version are in this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1190240#post1190240). It's kept pretty up to date:
[Changes]
Sync core to x264 git-1080 and ffmpeg SVN-16615

Vegas is terrible...
Yeah, really. I mean, it only uses a quarter of the RAM Premiere does, and starts about five times faster. It offers an intuitive interface, too. Who would ever want that?
;)
I'm kidding, of course, though I do like Vegas more than any other commercial editor. IMO writing plugins for all the commercial NLEs out there (or just picking your fav. and leaving the others out to dry) would be way too much work, involving way too much duplication of effort, which then needs to be maintained as the apps in question get new versions that break old plugins (likely).
The best solution would be something like this (though perhaps not this one specifically): http://www.debugmode.com/frameserver/
This way, all (theoretically) NLEs that support VfW now have a way to get to x264. From what I understand, you choose that "codec" in Premiere, Vegas, whatever, and it "saves" a fake AVI which you can then open in AviSynth and feed to whatever. Would probably be better if there was a way of directly feeding to AviSynth, but you can't be picky.

no, no... I want to import directly via native plug-ins.
using VFW & DS for importing is not recommended.
simply, I can use Divx H.264 & AAC decoders & Haali for porting, but no way.

simply, develop a x264 plug-in for PP or forget about posting VFW/DS solutions...

because that apparently takes effort.
he's now demanding that some develop the plugin because of not wanting to exert any effort himself.

Sina, we are people here. PEOPLE. If you lack the skills to do something, but someone else has them, you ask nicely. If they don't want to do it, you either develop said skills, ask/pay someone else, or chalk it up as a loss. You don't demand they do your bidding.
What is wrong with the solution I posted? I doubt anyone's do all I said, making a plugin for the software you specifically like or all software, maintaining it, etc., when there's a much cleaner, easier, and _already finished_ way of doing it.

I don't have enough space & time for converting 300+ videos to a lossless format.

OK... the best solution is a compatible x264 plug-in.
are you a programmer?

for cs3 debugmode frameserver should work as advertized, this is indeed moot when it comes to batch export options that are part of cs4.

It's what I aspire to be, but I would not call myself a programmer.
Again, what's wrong with what I proposed? An x264 plugin would be slightly faster to use from within Premiere, but it seems a virtual nightmare to me... supporting multiple NLEs most likely, maintaining the plugin as the NLEs go through multiple plugin-borking updates, all for a little extra time saved by not doing it the other way. And, what about when x264 is dead? Using a frameserver means a ton less work for a lot more *real* gain. The frameserver (at least theoretically) only needs to be updated when the preferred method of frameserving changes - e.g., switching away from VfW. New encoder? No problem. New NLE? (Theoretically, assuming they don't do stupid things to b0rk compatibility) No problem.
The best way would be to get all NLE makers to agree to one simple, unified way of "plugging in" encoders, filters, etc. Or, to all support an open-source (therefore, much harder for a company to control to their own gain) frameserver and common API.
Good luck. You'll need it.
