I have been on this forum for a few years now,and I have seen this answer somewhere before. Both of my drives instantly dropped to .08 to 1.8 max burn speed, using either DVDD or IMGburn. I cant think of any changes in the computer recently. Here is IMGburn log.

Didnt do anything,actually made it worse. Would not even start burn,said invalid format. I changed the drive to a pci-e controller and its works fine. My other drive is a sata drive hooked to mobo,wont burn faster then 2.7x Liteon Sh-16A7S. And ideas? I am going to try hooking it to the pci_e controller and see what happens.

Have you restarted after running VBS?

VBS = Visual Basic Script, resetdma.vbs followed with a restart successfully reset a lot of troublesome slow computers with DMA problems. You might have simply gotten a bad batch of media. Can you try some other media?

I have just connected both my drives to a pci-e ide/sata controller. One of my drives is ide,the other is sata,both Liteon. Both are working as if new,will burn at highest speed,and using the same media I have used for years. How would I reset the VBS?

@jimzcatz

Hi!

If you should have to reset DMA for your drive(s)(It appears that you no longer have to do so):

In the Device Manager (via the Control Panel>>System>>Hardware>>Device Manager), you simply have to remove the applicable IDE channel (Click on "IDE...Controllers") and let your computer reset it to DMA as follows:
Right click on the pertinent channel in Device Manager
Click on uninstall
Reboot
After rebooting go back to Device Manager and change the setting to "DMA if available"...
