Hello,

I want to record an animation that I can make on my computer.

I make the animation frame by frame (imagine playing a computer game, and you control the character with a controller, and on the controller you have a button which advances the game by 1 frame at a time)

I would like to know if anyone knows of a screen capture program that can only record those unique frames.

Or, if there's a program where I can say "only record this next 1 frame of movement" ?

What is your source format animation? (e.g. a video like .avi, .gif, something else)? and desired output format (e.g. image like .png, .tiff etc...)

You can use something like techsmith snag-it to capture a specific frame, or camtasia studio or fraps to record a sequence

If it's a video, you can take framecaptures in vdub or vdubmod. You can use AvsP and avisynth to do the same thing for a specific frame
