Since the psy-rd has two values one for the psy-rd strength and one for the psy-trellis strength.

Does this setting take over the trellis setting or work along side it doing something different?

Also while I am at it, I am looking for opinions on using trellis (and psy-rd) with a single pass CRF encoding.

I have done many many test runs and seems like I get different kinds of results so I cant quite conclude what to go with.

Psy-trellis is an extra weighting algorithm applied on top of regular trellis. The options are separate--while psy-trellis requires trellis, both can be adjusted independently (--trellis controls when trellis runs, psy-trellis controls what it does when it runs).

Awesome that answers my question, so guess its just trial and error to find the values that work best for me.

Have any objections to Trellis/Psy-Trellis with a single pass CRF encoding? It has become my new favorite way to do things instead of a 2 pass ABR.
