Hello all - I have recently gotten into very basic ripping/encoding of some of my anime dvds using the automkv package.
(skip to bottom for question, just giving some insight in these few sentences)
I was able to learn a bit about how the process works and for what I am doing am able to get something watchable, however a couple of people are telling me that it can very easily get better if I use the correct filters.
Now the anime I am talking about is Maison Ikkoku, an anime from the 80s, I recently saw a video of someone who did some ripping of the opening and endings and it looked fantastic. So I am trying to find out about using filters.
My question would be, I quickly looked through the FAQ and was unable to find it. is there a place where I can find what/how each video filter will do to a video? or (and I am willing to do the homework myself) does anyone have a general recommendation of a type of filter I should be using in an encode like this? I have a pretty speedy setup so length of time on an encode is no concern of mine. The source is DVD. (oh and i'm using x264 as the codec here if that even makes a difference >< )
If I have posted this in the wrong area, my apologies. seems like the best place to go. :)
