Hi there.

I need advice for an external capture device, only needed for capturing videos out of games. So far in another forum the best advice I was given was to build a small PC with RAID-Setup and a Blackmagic Intensity Pro (http://www.blackmagic-design.com/products/intensity/) capture card.

Though I still want to be absolutly sure about the solution so I thought I may ask here in a specialised enviroment :)

I still would welcome suggestions for out-of-the-box solutions. So far what people recommended me was mostly specialised for real video capturing for movies/films and therefore overpowered and/or not the exact direction I was looking for. If you know anything that'd be perfect for capturing 3D material that would be great.

Other then that the requirements are only support 4:3 and 5:4 resolutions, though if thats not possible at all I'd also go with standard widescreen resolutions. I think 1280x720 would be enough, still the higher the better. Oh and software solutions like FRAPs aren't an option here.

Thanks in advantage, hope this is kind of the correct forum.

Hi!Oh and software solutions like FRAPs aren't an option here. And why is that?

Because the objects of recording aren't optimized and don't have a stable code, so software solutions can't guarantee a stable recording, or worse, won't work at all.

Really nothing? I thought this is where the experts hang out... ;-)

Perhaps you should ask the "experts" who hang out at gaming forums instead. This site is primarily for video conversion or capturing from video sources (Not 3D applications).

Already did and yep, that was more productive. Still it goes in the same direction so I thought I might find help here. But this forum is apperantly dead in general. Too bad, but thanks anyway.
