hi,
i am looking to reencode my bd's, keeping bd file structure. i plan on doing some compression, but nothing extreme, don't want to lose any discernible quality loss, but know i can get away with smaller file sizes, i've tried this on a couple movies and they look great, i just reduced the file size by about a third, leaving about a 15mbps bitrate, I'm keeping highest possible audio quality though, prefer HD, don't have system configured quite right for it (yet) though, but will leave those tracks in stream anyways, so prob 2 audio streams, until I get the HD audio dialed.

anyway, although i want to get rid of all trailers and extra content, i do like having the movie/chapter menu. i've got everything set except the menu part. I've searched around a lot without success. I even tried doing it manually, by removing the streams I didn't want, but it messes up the disc structure, and is hit or miss whether it will play or not. Does anyone know software that will keep menus intact, while stripping away the rest??

thanks,
rlr

We obviously have a different idea of 'searching around alot' as if you look in the DVD Rebuilder section next to this one I think you'll find what you're looking for.

actually is does not do what i want, if you read the post. it does movie only, or everything, and it only encodes to dvd 9, or bd25, which does not help me.

i have anydvdhd in place first of all. then use tsmuxer to strip out unwanted parts. i muxed to a blu-ray format, but i suppose you could just use mp4. i then feed it into Xvid4PSP, set audio to copy, and adjusted the encoding accordingly, i used 2 pass by size setting, so I could tell what filesize I would end up with. Xvid4PSP will output blu-ray format, but if you want to be able to FF or RW, you have to run it through tsmuxer again and add the timing info.

I'm going to rearrange this a bit, since you have to do a final mux with tsmuxer anyway, and that would be to load up tsmuxer, get rid of everything except video track, demux that, then feed that through Xvid4PSP, then mux that back in with audio with tsmuxer. tsmuxer adds chapters too, which I can't remember if Xvid4PSP does. I did Casino Royale that way, and it came out great, and went from 44G to ~21.
