View Full Version : Playback Issues...linked to interlaced?

So when I play back my M2TS file straight from my camcorder, using either CoreAVC or DivX 7 codec, it looks weird (like interlaced problems)...but when I play the MKV converted version, it plays fine.

I trie playing with the settings on the CoreAVC codec and when anything BUT hardware deinterlace is checked it has the problem, but when hardware deinterlace is checked, it doesn't have the problem.

I'm guessing DivX Converter deinterlaced the file when it converted it to MKV?

So, is it my computer processing power that's not letting it play back smoothly when interlaced?

The weird thing is that before I installed either DivX or CoreAVC, the same M2TS file ran just fine using Sony AVC decoder. Hmm...

Another thing, when I run timeCodec.exe testing the M2TS file only, with DivX + Deinterlacing it runs fast: ~95 DFPS. When I run it with CoreAVC + Single Field Deinterlacing it also runs fast: ~98 DFPS...both show the weird look on video as I described above.

However, when I test that file with CoreAVC + HARDWARE deinterlacing, the video looks good, BUT the DFPS dropped down to about ~50.
