OK...so read a bit on Wiki about the M2TS file...which is what my camcorder records in...question is, is the M2TS a transport stream or a container like AVI? Or am I not understanding the term for TS?

I understand that my files are using H.264/AVC codec right? So I assume M2TS is the container...but now I'm confused by Wiki calling it a transport stream.

Thanks.

Wiki transport stream then. They are a lot like file containers.

So the M2TS files my camcorder records puts it into a TS instead of a container? If not, what is the container?

"Container" has no definite meaning. One common usage is that it is a mechanism for packaging multiple streams. In that sense, a transport stream is a container.
