trying to find the Cyberlink h264/AVC Decoder filter in the external filter list but its not there.
I have Powerdvd9 Ultra installed but none of the filters are in the list. does anyone know what im doing wrong or how to add it? I tried adding the file (CL264dec.ax) which i believe is the filter itself but it doesnt work.
any tips would be greatly appreciated.

if there are no positive suggestions may i ask if someone can point me in the right direction to play x264 files with hardware decoding so my CPU isnt being violated. I am running vista x64 Ultimate and own powerdvd 8 which i know has the hardware decoding but wont play the files either.

thanks in advance

nobody has run into this issue before? that doesn't really surprise me because i have the worst luck when it comes to things like this. basically all i want to do is be able to play high definition x264 files with a hardware decoder so my CPU isnt running at 50% load the whole time. I can play them in powerDVD 8 with CCCP installed no problem, but when i enable the hardware decoding i get no video or audio playback.

I know the answer is out there and i have tried various methods to achieve this but havent found one that works. My friend said it works fine for him but he is running 32bit vista instead of x64.

so again i am at a loss, can anyone help me achieve my goal of playing x264 movies with hardware decoding? ANY direction would be greatly appreciated.

*edit* the main problem i seem to be having is assigning C:\Program Files (x86)\CyberLink\PowerDVD8\VideoFilter\CL264dec.ax as my decoding filter for some reason.
I just cant get it in the list of external filters.

I don't use cyberlink's decoder, so I can't help you there. But since you're already using MPC-HC, why don't you try it's internal DXVA accelerated h.264 decoder? http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=965213#post965213

Be careful : you have to use mpc-hc x32 to use Cyberlink decoder on an x64 operating system! Cyberlink exists only in 32 bits and cannot be used with x64 players
