Hi all.

I've got the movie Wanted which is about 45GB. I want to burn it on a 25GB bluray disk. In order to do this I need to strip extra audio streams from the main movie. I do this using tsmuxer. I open the original movie, deselect the unwanted audio streams and remux to a .m2ts file which I then replace for the original movie and recreate an image.

When I play the remuxed .m2ts the video does play and it looks fine. But when I play the BLURAY as a whole (so not the single .m2ts) it works but when I choose PLAY MOVIE the screen turns black. The timeslide represents the length of the movie so i can see it tries to play it, i can also move along the timeslide but the screen stays black.

I hope someone can help me because I don't know where I should look.

I already did this with Wanted, and it plays fine from either the m2ts or the folder using TMT player. What player do you have?
BTW, I end up with 17.4 GBs... is that what you have?

Mmm my main file is about 17,7GB. I used PowerDVD to check it. I have TMT too, but it can't play the bluray at all, also not the original. Screen stays black. I tried to update in the program Rightclick->Arcsoft->Product updates, but it seems that I still have the latest version ( 2.1.16.128 ). When I play the .m2ts file individually with TMT, it does play.

when I talk about playing the bluray as a whole, I mean that I made the ISO image and then tried to play it.

Did you mount the .ISO with a virtual drive tool (such as daemontools/virtual clone drive)? If you are using PowerDVD this will play back correctly, assuming you demuxed/muxed correctly with TSMuxer, which is appears you have done.

Yes I created the image with ImgBurn (UDF 2.50) and mounted it with the latest Deamon Tools. PowerDVD recognizes the BLURAY and automatically plays. It's just when I click PLAY MOVIE, the screen turns black. Though when I play the .m2ts invidivually i can see the video.

For more than a week I cannot make Nero Showtime play my multiAVCHD generated folders, but they play fine in standalone players and PS3. It will show menu and then just a black screen or will stall indefinitely. The problem could lie elsewhere.

For the time, I still think & assume that the problem is not on the playback software side, but with the actual bluray i'm working on, so I hope someone here can help me.:thanks:

Hi!

It's been mentioned in a thread in the "Decrypting" sub-forum here that mounting with Daemon Tools for your purpose can prove to be problematic. In the same thread, it is strongly suggested to use Virtual Clone Drive instead...

This seems unlikely as I've got the most up to date version. It also happened today with another Universal bluray which was some weeks older so that shouldn't be the problem.

power dvd 9 has issues with VC-1 content that is normal to get a black screen on playback. if you patch power dvd 9 to play VC-1 then power dvd will not play the hd structure. you must burn the structure to a iso file then mount it with a program such as deamon tools (or burn it to a BD disk) to watch it.

Yeah well I don't think it's due this. I mean the original video is VC-1 too, and that does playback the video. In the meanwhile I got another bluray which has the same problem. It's also a Universal bluray btw. Original works like a charm. Take the main movie out of the original, strip audio's, put it back in the original structure, make image which i mount. Bluray works fine untill i play movie and it stays black.:scared:

It is unelikely for me that i'm the only one with this problem, as i assume multiple people 'ld like to process their blurays this way.. so really hope there's someone out there who has experienced & solved this.

Haven't experienced this myself yet. But when ripping my DVDs, I recall I could get the DVD player to hang when the player was set to expect, say, English menu structure and language, when I had stripped those menus and language. Could be a similar issue is going on here. Maybe you've set TMT to expect a default language or some such, that is now no longer available? I know, it's a long shot, but might be worth trying out.
