View Full Version : Bluray .m2ts stutters unless in .iso image

I'm trying to create a .m2ts file that contains just the video and AC3 audio from "The Dark Knight".

I've ripped it to an .iso (with AnyDVDHD) and it plays perfectly when mounted that way in PowerDVD8. But when I copy the 00007.m2ts file to my hard drive by itself and try to play that, it stutters the video (though not the audio).

I've tried remuxing with tsremux and tsmuxer. I've tried using Ripbot, but when I encode based on the 00007.m2ts file all created files stutter as well.

I've had this problem on other Blu-rays of mine (such as "Rio Bravo" and "Adventures of Robin Hood"), where some stutter on the main video file if played outside an image, but work fine if the image is mounted. I'm simply at a loss for what could be causing this problem though... Any ideas would be more than welcome.

What happens if you import .m2ts directly from blu-ray disc (AnyDVD HD enabled in background) to RipBot264?

I'll give that a try tonight.

Nope, it still stutters. I can't understand it. Even if I demux the movie's .m2ts with eac3to and then remux it, there's still this stuttering issue. With no reencoding whatsoever...

Could you upload a 50 MB sample to www.mediafire.com? Use DGSplit

Well, as I'm fiddling with trying to find the best short clip to show the problem, I've found the answer. It was PowerDVD. When I watch the .m2ts in media player classic it doesn't stutter at all.

Thank you very much for your assistance Atak... It was very kind of you to try to help out even though the problem clearly wasn't with Ripbot...

As an aside, do you recommend any particular dvd playing software? I've been rather annoyed that PowerDVD can't seem to handle TrueHD, and this stuttering problem is simply ridiculous. I don't mind paying for a better media player, but I don't mind open source projects either.
