Why is the RipIt4Me default setting to not bypass annoying PGCs?

What is a PGC?

What happens if they're not bypassed?

What happens if they are?

Is there any downside to bypassing them?

Sure it doesn't say "annoying PUOs?" That stands for Prohibited User Operations, such as not being able to skip past the FBI warning which displays for 10 to 15 seconds.

It's there to remove copyright warnings etc.

I don't like using it though as there's always the possibility that it gets it wrong and removes something that it shouldn't.

I'd rather rip with this setting off then remove everything I choose to remove manually with PgcEdit.

I don't like using it though as there's always the possibility that it gets it wrong and removes something that it shouldn't. Ah, again. I suppose that's why it's left unchecked by default.

I tried using it a couple of times and couldn't figure it out. I've used VobBlanker in the past to get rid of stuff like copyright warnings though. Is PgcEdit better suited for that? (Maybe I ought to give it another try.)

What you're wanting to do is fairly basic but PgcEdit is more versatile than that and the more familiar you are with it the more essential it becomes.

It will also keep you right as well, warning you where appropriate.

Anyway the new version of PgcEdit allows for full video and audio preview of all PGCs.

To preview a PGC open a DVD and right-click on the one you want to preview in the left-hand window.

Once you're happy you've got the correct one then right-click again and select 'Kill Playback'.

You can also kill playback of language menus etc that way and PgcEdit will ask you to choose the button you want selected by default.
