I have seen so many references to this across the web but the solutions vary and it's driving me mad. Any help would be grateful.
My system was working fine until sometime before Xmas but now something has changed (I may have installed something but nothing obvious). I have an ATI x1950 graphic card running under Windows Vista Ultra 32bit and now it only plays hd-dvd (I have an LG GGW-H20L) - blu-ray discs play but with a black screen for the video in HD material - the menus are there as are some items like the copywrite messages. The sound is also present. I have tried original discs, original discs with Anydvd running, ripping the discs to the HDD, and even ones converted with BD-RB. All worked fine until recently. I have upgraded PowerDVD to the latest version, the new ATI Drivers (8.12), update the LG firmware, and updated vista with SP1 but still no blu-ray. The same problem occurs with Windvd. I did try a trial of MediaTheatre (to be able to play material off the HDD) which was fine but I uninstalled after it expired.
Am I going mad?
