Video:
1920x1080 BR rip of deadspace
Sharktooths xbox360 profile
Audio:
2Channel CBR MP3 @ 256kbs
Container:
MP4
... It spits that up with error code 69-C00D002F, nothing documented on xbox.com/support.
Switch the audio to 2 channel AAC, and it happily chugs along.
Anyone else experience finicky playback issues? Any advice?

Xbox360 supports only AAC audio for MP4 container. And Stereo AAC, I mean, don't even think about 5.1.

What about AC3 or DTS in a mp4 container?

I don't believe AC3 is supported by the MP4 spec, same for DTS.

AC3 is natively supported by the mp4 container spec, DTS not (although maybe possible via private stream), but none of it is supported by the 360.

This is roughly whats supported audio wise in the Xbox dash currently
AAC-LC in MP4/M4V/MOV (H.264 video)
MP3 or AC3 5.1 in AVI (XviD video)
WMA/WMA 5.1 in WMV
This is whats supported in the MCX (Xbox media center extender) mode for Windows XP and Windows Vista
AC3 in MPG (always downmixes to 2 channel)
AC3 5.1 in DVR-MS
WMA/WMA 5.1 in WMV
This is whats allegedly supported in the MCX mode under Windows 7 (Beta 1)
AC3/DTS in M2TS (H.264 video) [DTS untested]
AAC-HE/AAC-LC/AAC 5.1 in MP4 (H.264 video) [AAC 5.1 not working]
MP3/AC3 5.1 in AVI (XviD video)
AC3 in MPG
AC3 5.1 in DVR-MS/WTV
WMA/WMA 5.1 in WMV

Well, when I said only AAC Stereo, I REALLY meant it.
The 360 doesn't support anything at all besides AAC Stereo, if paired with H264 video and MP4 container.
This is probably to force us to go VC-1 for surround sound.

I doubt thats Microsoft intention as surround sound is no real value compared to better Video Quality is it ;) ?
